Only a brave soul would ride the river rapids, hike through the mountains or nip to the shops in a torrential downpour with an Apple Watch strapped to their wrist. Yet, if you choose to wear the gigantic WSD-F10 instead, you could confidently do all of these things. Casio’s first Android Wear smartwatch is as rugged as they come – a far cry from the firm’s rather more brittle, spongy-keyed calculator watches of the Eighties. Designed for people who love the great, weather-beaten outdoors, it has been tested to military standard specifications (MIL-STD-810G if you must ask) and it also comes with apps specifically designed for
trekking, cycling and fishing. More able to survive the fiercest of conditions than most of us, it’s water-resistant to 50 metres and, while it has a cool yet power-zapping 1.32-inch touch-screen colour display, it’s also built to last. Change it to monochrome mode and it will stay powered for as long as a month. We reckon that will buy you enough time to navigate out of any situation.

This watch will cost around $500 when it becomes available in April in Market.
